COLORADO — A fast-moving wildfire tore through 115 acres of dry terrain on Sunday, with thick smoke and zero containment prompting an urgent multi-agency response.

Helicopters dropped fire retardant over advancing flames as ground crews raced to protect nearby homes. The blaze, fueled by dry vegetation and gusty winds, erupted without warning and has already turned parts of the Colorado landscape into scorched earth.
