Historic Milestone: Pioneer Residents Celebrate First Shabbos in the New Lakefront Community

An incredibly uplifting Shabbos was experienced by the pioneer residents of the newly established community of Lakefront. It was truly a "Shabbos Bereishis" in every sense of the word, as over 70 residents, together with the community's founders, spent their first Shabbos in the highly anticipated city. The excitement in the air was palpable.

The historic Shabbos was led by Harav Zusha Ausch Shlit"a, a member of the Lakefront Vaad Harabbanim, alongside the chairman of the Vaad Hachinuch, Harav Avrohom Dov Erntal Shlit"a. The Shabbos was also graced by the presence of the founders and askanim, R' Chaim Meir Markowitz and R' Eliezer Binner.

As Shabbos approached, an early Mincha minyan was held, followed half an hour later by the main minyan, which was filled with immense hislahavus. Kabalas Shabbos was led by Harav Chaim Meir Katz Shlit"a, a grandson of the Vien and Vizhnitz-Bnei Brak Rebbes. The Beis Medrash echoed with a warm and spirited Lecha Dodi sung together by all the residents.

Following the tefillos, residents returned to their homes for the seudas Shabbos. Later that night, a beautiful botte was held at the home of Harav Zusha Ausch Shlit"a. The gathering was a beautiful display of achdus, with the tzibbur singing shiros v'tishbachos together k'ish echad b'lev echad.

The uplifting atmosphere continued into Shabbos morning. The tefillos were held b'rov pe'er v'hadar, and the aliyos were auctioned off for generous sums, with the oilam participating warmly. Following davening, a beautiful Chosson Bereishis kiddush was sponsored by founder R' Yudel Perlstein. Harav Ausch Shlit"a delivered inspiring divrei chizuk, deeply moving the residents as he spoke about the significance of building a beautiful new Torah city from the very beginning—Bereishis.

Shabbos afternoon featured a special children's program and Chevras Tehillim led by local resident and noted mechanech R' Tuvia Leib Stern. The children enjoyed nosh, recited Tehillim, and were treated to a dramatic story. Afterward, the tzibbur davened Mincha b'rov am and washed for a communal Shalosh Seudos, sitting together b'sheves achim and singing zemiros in unison.

The Shabbos was an extraordinary success. Despite the natural challenges that come with establishing a new yishuv, the residents remain highly ambitious and positive, looking forward to the continued growth and success of Lakefront. Everyone departed feeling inspired and uplifted, wishing each other a "Gute Voch" and eagerly anticipating the arrival of more families who will soon join the beautiful new kehillah.
