VIDEO: Three Arrested During Police Operation In Mea Shearim
Three people were arrested during clashes in Jerusalem’s Mea Shearim neighborhood on Monday after a police and municipal enforcement operation developed into unrest.
Police entered the neighborhood as part of an enforcement operation that included removing Palestinian flags and erasing graffiti from public areas.
During the operation, stones and other objects were thrown toward police officers. Police responded with crowd-control measures as confrontations continued in the neighborhood.
One minor suspected of throwing stones was arrested by undercover detectives operating among the crowd. Two additional 16-year-old suspects were later arrested following another confrontation nearby.
All three were taken for questioning, while police continued searching for additional suspects believed to have been involved in the disturbances.
