"Hazorim Bedimah": Emotional Bar Mitzvah Celebrated for Grandson of Kasho Rebbe Rescued from Lev Tahor

A historic and deeply emotional simcha took place recently as Habachur Hachashuv Elimelech Henoch Yehuda Weingarten, a grandson of the Kasho Rebbe Shlit"a and the Tertzal Gaavad Shlit"a, became a Bar Mitzvah. The simcha carried a profound sense of cheirus and geulah, as the young boy was B"H rescued from the brutal Lev Tahor cult.

The Bar Mitzvah bachur endured unimaginable suffering in his younger years. He was subjected to severe and bitter punishments within Lev Tahor. Later, during a grueling legal battle to remove him from the cult's shelters, his parents—who tragically remain trapped in the group—smuggled him to Colombia, where his suffering continued. Baruch Hashem, through the tireless efforts of his dedicated grandparents, uncles, and aunts, he was rescued from their cruel hands and given a second chance at a happy, normal life.

Adding to the immense nachas and emotion of the simcha was another special milestone: a three-year-old boy received his first peyos at his upsherin, a step taken despite fierce opposition and battles from his parents. Today, the Bar Mitzvah bachur wants nothing to do with Lev Tahor. He learns the heilege Torah among ehrliche Yidden and lives a genuine, joyous Yiddishe life. Everyone at the Bar Mitzvah could see the radiant smile of hakaras hatov on his face toward those who saved him.
