Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, underscored Israel’s unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of the Druze community during a visit to IDF outposts in southwest Syria. Accompanying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, Foreign Minister Gidon Saar, and IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Zamir, Leiter visited positions near areas where over 500,000 Druze civilians reside.

Many of the Druze villages in the region recently faced massacres, highlighting the urgent need for security and protection. Speaking about the visit, Ambassador Leiter emphasized that the Druze are not just neighbors but brothers and sisters to Israel. He reiterated that Israel is fully committed to their safety, security, and welfare, ensuring that no armed militia or hostile army can threaten their communities or Israel’s borders.
