The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the expansion of Crossing 147 in Gaza, significantly increasing the flow of humanitarian aid into the territory.

As of September 2025, the upgraded crossing can now process up to 150 trucks per day, tripling its previous capacity of 50. The move is aimed at easing the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where shortages of food, medicine, and essential supplies have intensified amid ongoing conflict.

Israeli officials emphasized that the expansion represents a major logistical step to accelerate aid delivery while ensuring security protocols remain in place. Humanitarian groups have long warned of worsening conditions in Gaza, and the improved capacity at Crossing 147 is expected to provide some relief to residents.

The IDF noted that the crossing will continue to be closely monitored to prevent the smuggling of weapons while allowing life-saving goods to reach civilians in need.
