LG has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence innovation, an AI-powered home robot named CLOiD, presenting a bold vision of what the company calls a “Zero Labor Home.” The robot made its public debut at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, where LG demonstrated how advanced automation could significantly reduce the time and effort consumers spend on daily household chores.

During the presentation, CLOiD was shown slowly and deliberately gathering clothes and loading them into a washing machine, offering a glimpse into LG’s long-term goal of fully automated home task management. Designed to operate seamlessly across multiple connected devices, the robot functions as both a physical assistant and an intelligent control hub for smart appliances throughout the home.

CLOiD is powered by advanced vision-language models that allow it to understand its surroundings and interpret instructions, combined with vision-language-action models that enable precise physical manipulation. LG engineers trained the system using more than 10,000 hours of real-world household footage, allowing the robot to learn how to perform tasks such as laundry handling, basic meal preparation, and general object organization with minimal human intervention.

Physically, the robot features a wheeled base that allows it to navigate indoor environments smoothly, along with two highly flexible arms offering seven degrees of freedom each. These arms are equipped with dexterous hands capable of grasping and manipulating everyday household items. A head-mounted AI module serves as the robot’s interaction center, enabling voice communication with users while coordinating commands across connected home appliances.

LG positions CLOiD not as a novelty, but as a foundational component of its broader smart home strategy. By combining mobility, manipulation, and intelligent decision-making, the company aims to shift routine domestic work away from homeowners and toward autonomous systems.

While the technology is still in its early stages, CLOiD represents a significant step toward mainstream household robotics. LG’s demonstration signals a future where artificial intelligence moves beyond screens and into physical spaces, transforming how homes function and redefining the role of automation in everyday life.
