The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the completion of a three-month operation in Rafah, southern Gaza, aimed at dismantling underground infrastructure, including extensive tunnels along the Yellow Line security buffer. Video footage released by the IDF shows a tunnel entrance being destroyed through a controlled explosion, highlighting the tactical precision of the operation.

The campaign, carried out by the IDF’s 7th Brigade, neutralized dozens of tunnel-based threats and more than 100 terror sites since November 2025. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to secure the Philadelphi Corridor and prevent smuggling into Gaza, reinforcing the safety of Israeli communities near the border.

Officials noted that the operation significantly disrupted militant logistics and reduced the operational capabilities of armed groups in the area. The dismantling of tunnels not only protects civilians from potential attacks but also strengthens Israel’s ability to monitor and control cross-border movement, contributing to long-term regional security.
