The Israel Defense Forces have released previously unseen body-camera footage from Operation Golden Hand, the February 12, 2024 mission that rescued hostages Louis Har and Fernando Marman from captivity in the Gaza Strip after 129 days.

The video, recorded by a fighter from IDF, shows the extraction team transporting the two men through Gaza at night following their rescue in Rafah. The footage, captured under night-vision conditions, documents the convoy’s rapid movement toward Israeli territory after the hostages were secured.

The operation was conducted jointly by the IDF and involved special forces from Shayetet 13 and Unit 5515. Israeli officials said the raid took place amid heavy gunfire and supporting airstrikes designed to suppress militant response during the exfiltration phase.

Har and Marman—Argentine-Israeli nationals—were among more than 250 people abducted during the October 7, 2023 attacks. Their rescue marked one of only a small number of successful live hostage recoveries carried out by Israeli forces during the war.

The newly released footage focuses on the moments after the extraction, showing the hostages inside the vehicle as the unit drove through Gaza streets toward the border. Military officials said the material is being published now, two years later, after operational security restrictions were lifted.

Operation Golden Hand remains one of the most prominent Israeli special operations of the conflict, highlighting the risks and complexity involved in conducting hostage rescues in densely populated urban areas under active combat conditions.
