Federal authorities have charged 30-year-old Afghan national Mohammad Dawood Alokozay for allegedly plotting to build a bomb and kill Americans in Fort Worth, Texas. Alokozay, who entered the United States in 2021 through Operation Allies Welcome during the Biden administration, is currently in custody following his arrest last week.

According to court filings and video evidence, Alokozay posted TikTok videos in Pashto threatening to construct explosives in a vehicle and carry out a suicide attack targeting civilians. Translations of his statements revealed that he explicitly intended to kill “infidels,” expressing no fear of deportation or personal consequences. The investigation involved the FBI, Homeland Security, and local police, who acted swiftly on public tips to elevate prior state charges to the federal level.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and officials like AG Pam Bondi condemned the case as a serious failure of vetting, noting the suspect’s entry into the country and subsequent threats against Americans. Authorities emphasized that rapid action was necessary to protect communities and prevent a potential mass-casualty attack.

Alokozay now faces up to five years in federal prison for allegedly plotting to execute a bomb attack in Fort Worth. Officials continue to review how his entry and radicalization were allowed, reinforcing concerns over border and immigration policies, as well as national security priorities.
