Israeli security forces carried out a dramatic broad daylight arrest in the heart of Shechem, apprehending a wanted terror suspect linked to Fatah and the Lion’s Den network. The operation was executed by Gideonim Unit 33 of Lahav 433 in a joint effort with the IDF’s Samaria Brigade and the Shin Bet, part of Operation “Five Stones” targeting terrorist infrastructure in northern Samaria.

The raid took place in Shechem’s bustling casbah market, where undercover fighters moved among civilians to avoid detection. Based on precise Shin Bet intelligence, the team identified the suspect’s exact location, allowing them to act swiftly. Once the signal was given, the operatives drew their weapons and overwhelmed the suspect within seconds, completing the arrest without any casualties to Israeli forces. A knife was recovered during a search of the suspect.

Officials described the suspect as a dangerous terrorist involved in previous attacks and the planting of explosives targeting both Israeli security forces and civilians. His capture represents a significant disruption to ongoing terror activities in the area, particularly related to the Lion’s Den network’s operations in Shechem.

Security authorities emphasized that these intelligence-led, joint raids are part of a continuing effort to dismantle terrorist networks across Judea and Samaria. The successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of precise planning, coordination between Israeli forces, and actionable intelligence in safeguarding civilians and maintaining regional security.
