Iranian General Threatens Global Occupation of U.S. Bases Over Nuclear Escalation

Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, a senior adviser to the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, issued a stark warning in a rare interview, claiming that any nuclear escalation by President Donald Trump would result in the occupation of U.S. military bases around the world the following day. Speaking to PBS NewsHour, Naqdi attempted to project strength amid the ongoing U.S.-Israel military campaign against Iran that began in February 2026. He described the American military as weaker than Iranian officials had expected and insisted that prolonged fighting is allowing Tehran to build greater deterrence. The general also rejected the pursuit of nuclear weapons, arguing instead that Iran’s true strength lies in winning “the hearts of the people” through ideology. These comments reflect a regime under sustained pressure seeking to deter further decisive action.

Naqdi’s threats come as Iranian forces continue to face significant degradation from coordinated American and Israeli operations focused on military targets, missile infrastructure, and control of the Strait of Hormuz. By claiming the U.S. military is weaker than anticipated, the IRGC adviser appears to be spinning setbacks into a narrative of resilience.
