The episode began on December 8 at Bicentennial Park, where a man briefly walked his dog after leaving his unlocked BMW convertible with the keys still inside. Within minutes, 36-year-old Calvin Curtis Johnson had taken the car for what witnesses described as a reckless, high-speed joyride.

The stolen vehicle ultimately crashed at the intersection of Old Dixie Highway and Plantation Oaks Boulevard, erupting in flames as smoke filled the roadway. Local bystanders rushed to the scene, dragging the dazed and barefoot driver away from the burning wreckage just moments before the fire intensified.

Body camera footage captured Johnson telling deputies that he had “teleported” into the car and that “aliens” were after him. Despite the outlandish claims, authorities proceeded with standard protocol. After being transported to a hospital for medical evaluation, Johnson was charged with grand theft auto and driving on a suspended license.
