Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s involvement in any future meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Speaking after what he called his “best” meeting yet at the White House on Monday, Zelensky signaled openness to a trilateral dialogue.
“President Trump will try to organize such [a] meeting,” Zelensky told reporters, noting that Trump suggested he might personally attend. “And he said that he will come or not come, Ukraine will be happy if you [do].”
Trump confirmed that he plans to reach out to Putin following his discussion with Zelensky, hinting at efforts to bring all three leaders together. While no date or location has been set, the idea of direct engagement between Kyiv, Moscow, and Washington marks a potential shift in the diplomatic landscape of the ongoing war.
The White House described Monday’s sit-down between Trump and Zelensky as productive, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to exploring pathways toward peace — though significant hurdles remain.
