An Alaska man experienced a terrifying ordeal when his home was torn from its foundation and swept away by storm surge — all while he was still inside. The dramatic incident, captured on video by Steven Anaver, shows his house drifting across choppy waters as the remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska earlier this week.

Anaver shared the footage with The Associated Press on Monday, revealing the extent of the storm’s destruction as wind and floodwaters uprooted homes and infrastructure in several coastal communities.
