A police pursuit in Brooklyn ended with two suspects in custody after critical aerial support helped guide officers on the ground, authorities said.

According to police, the incident unfolded on December 6 when two men stole an SUV and attempted to flee the area. As patrol units engaged in the pursuit, the department’s Aviation Unit was deployed to provide real-time overhead tracking.

Helicopter footage shows the stolen vehicle traveling through Brooklyn before the suspects abandoned it near the Belt Parkway and attempted to escape on foot. From above, the aviation crew relayed precise movements and locations to officers on the ground, allowing them to quickly contain the area.

The coordinated response led to the apprehension of both suspects without further incident. Police confirmed the stolen SUV was successfully recovered.

Authorities credited the Aviation Unit’s situational awareness and communication for helping bring the pursuit to a swift and safe conclusion, emphasizing the role of aerial support in tracking suspects while minimizing risks to the public.
