Freed hostages Gali and Ziv Berman, German-Israeli twin brothers, expressed their deep gratitude after returning home from nearly two years of captivity in Gaza. “Now we’re home, safe with family and friends, wrapped in love,” they said in a heartfelt statement recorded from Sheba Medical Center following their medical examinations.

The Bermans were among 20 living hostages released by Hamas on October 13, 2025, as part of a negotiated exchange. The twins were kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, during the initial wave of attacks that sparked the ongoing conflict. Their release marks the first time the brothers have been reunited since being separated early in their captivity.

In the emotional video message, Gali and Ziv thanked their family, Israel Defense Forces soldiers, and the Israeli public for their unwavering support throughout their ordeal. They also called on the nation to continue remembering those still held in Gaza, as well as the families of fallen soldiers, urging unity and compassion as the country continues to heal.
