JERUSALEM — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that two Hezbollah operatives were killed in airstrikes in Lebanon yesterday, targeting individuals linked to attacks on northern Israel.

The IDF identified the militants as Muhammad Abbas Sha’shua, who was tied to artillery attacks launched from the Beqaa Valley toward Kiryat Shmona and the Golan Heights, and Muhammad Hussein Yassin, described as a senior artillery figure in the Beaufort area. Yassin was also accused of smuggling weapons south of the Litani River, in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Military officials said the strike was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt Hezbollah’s military infrastructure and prevent further attacks on Israeli civilians and border communities.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions along the Israel–Lebanon border, where repeated exchanges of fire have fueled fears of a broader escalation.
