On August 13, 2025, Senator Lindsey Graham delivered a forceful defense of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, asserting that Israel has the capability to commit genocide but “chooses not to.” He contrasted this with Hamas, claiming the group would carry out such an act “in 30 seconds” if it could.

Graham also framed U.S. support for Israel as a matter of divine obligation, warning that “if America pulls the plug on Israel, God will pull the plug on us,” and vowing that such a scenario would not be allowed to happen.

His remarks come amid ongoing ceasefire negotiations and a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where more than 40,000 people have reportedly been killed. While consistent with his long-standing hawkish stance, Graham’s rhetoric risks further inflaming an already volatile situation as diplomatic efforts continue.
