Nighttime video from the area near Fnideq shows massive crowds gathered along roads and near the water by a hillside, consistent with attempts to swim around border barriers or scale fences from the Moroccan side. The renewed rush comes after social media calls circulated urging migrants to attempt another crossing, reigniting a crisis that has repeatedly tested the border in recent months.

Moroccan authorities moved quickly this time, arresting more than 100 migrants and deploying tear gas to disperse crowds attempting to breach the border.
