CLIFTON, N.J. — A dump truck carrying a full load of gravel overturned on Route 3 East Thursday, causing major traffic disruptions in Clifton.

The accident happened near Main Street by the Clifton Commons Shopping Center, shutting down all lanes in the area.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash or whether there were any injuries. Crews worked to clear the overturned truck and spilled gravel, but delays stretched for miles as drivers were diverted onto alternate routes.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect extended delays while cleanup continues.
