Authorities have identified the suspect in the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah.

Family members told investigators that Robinson repeatedly expressed anger toward Kirk, accusing him of being “full of hate” and “spreading hate.” Robinson allegedly believed Kirk was a fascist, which investigators say may have been a driving factor in the fatal attack.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox addressed the case, confirming that the suspect was not a student at Utah Valley University, where Kirk was assassinated during a campus speech on September 10, 2025.

Following the arrest, law enforcement officials stated “We got him,” marking a critical step in resolving the high-profile case. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to examine Robinson’s motives and background.
