A soda delivery truck was swallowed by a massive sinkhole in Mexico City after the road suddenly gave way, Reuters reported. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Local officials said the sinkhole was caused by an “extremely old” drainage system beneath the road, which eventually gave out and caused the asphalt to collapse.
Photos and video of the incident quickly spread across social media, showing the truck lodged deep in the hole. Crews have since worked to secure the area and begin repair efforts.
The dramatic scene has reignited concerns about aging infrastructure in the capital, where similar sinkhole incidents have occurred in the past.
