GAZA / KFAR AZA — In a symbolic act of recovery and resilience, IDF Givati Brigade troops operating in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, have recovered a tractor stolen from Kibbutz Kfar Aza during the October 7 Hamas-led massacre.
According to a statement from the Israeli military, the tractor was located overnight during ground operations inside Gaza and was successfully returned to its rightful owners on Tuesday morning.
The vehicle was reportedly looted during the brutal October 7 attack, in which dozens of Israeli civilians were killed, and property from several border communities was ransacked or destroyed. The discovery of the tractor, months after the incident, is being viewed by many as a small but powerful act of justice and closure for the residents of Kfar Aza.
“Returning stolen property from that day is more than logistics — it’s a matter of dignity,” an IDF spokesperson noted. “Every recovery reminds us why we are operating in Gaza: to bring safety and security back to our communities.”
The operation in Beit Hanoun is part of the IDF’s broader campaign in northern Gaza aimed at dismantling Hamas infrastructure and eliminating threats posed by militants operating in civilian zones.
For residents of Kibbutz Kfar Aza, the return of the tractor serves as a poignant reminder of what was taken — and what can be restored.
