MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Police are investigating a daring multi-million-dollar heist at a high-end jewelry store in Southern California after thieves carved a hole through the roof to gain entry.
The robbery took place at South Bay Gold in Manhattan Beach over Labor Day weekend. Surveillance video released by store management shows the suspects dropping through the roof and methodically clearing out showcases and safes.
Authorities say the thieves got away with nearly the entire inventory of gold, jewelry, and luxury watches, amounting to millions of dollars in losses. The store was closed for the holiday at the time of the burglary, and no injuries were reported.
Investigators are now working to identify the suspects and track the stolen goods, calling the crime one of the largest jewelry thefts in the area in recent years.
