New video footage has emerged showing an undocumented immigrant allegedly attempting to ram U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents’ vehicles during an arrest operation in **San Antonio, Texas** this week. The incident, which was discussed on Fox News by Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, reportedly resulted in one ICE agent being hospitalized with **neck injuries after his vehicle was struck**, according to Lyons’ remarks. 

The video depicts the suspected migrant driving a car that strikes multiple vehicles, including those driven by federal agents, as the individual attempts to evade apprehension. Lyons argued that attacks like this reflect a broader trend of increasing violence against immigration personnel. He claimed that agents now face “constant impediments” and “constant attacks,” attributing some of the surge in assaults to inflammatory rhetoric from elected officials and critics of ICE. 

Department of Homeland Security data show that **vehicular attacks on ICE officers have risen dramatically**, with DHS reporting a **3,200% increase in such incidents over the past year**. Assaults on immigration officers overall have also surged, and death threats against federal personnel have climbed sharply during the same period, figures that DHS officials have highlighted as a growing safety concern. 

Lyons reiterated that ICE agents have legal authority to respond to threats encountered during enforcement operations, and he linked some attacks on agents to organized efforts to obstruct federal law enforcement. He also warned that using a vehicle as a weapon against officers is a criminal act that will be investigated and prosecuted accordingly.
