The Israel Defense Forces have intensified their operations in southern Lebanon, targeting and dismantling Hezbollah’s artillery and rocket infrastructure in a sustained military campaign. According to official figures, more than 200 rocket launchers have been destroyed alongside approximately 1,300 launch tubes, significantly reducing the group’s ability to carry out large-scale attacks. These strikes are part of a broader strategy aimed at systematically degrading Hezbollah’s offensive capabilities. Military officials describe the effort as a critical step in neutralizing persistent threats along Israel’s northern border.
In addition to infrastructure losses, the campaign has focused heavily on eliminating key personnel within Hezbollah’s artillery units. Among those killed this week was Ali Kamel Abar al-Hassan, identified as an artillery officer in the Nasser Unit. His elimination is considered part of a targeted approach to disrupt command and control structures within the organization. Israeli sources report that more than 250 Hezbollah artillery operatives have been neutralized, including at least 15 commanders responsible for overseeing operations across multiple sectors.
