A powerful gas explosion at a bar in Madrid left at least 25 people injured on Friday, according to local authorities.

The blast occurred at Mis Tesoros bar on Calle Manuel Maroto in the Puente de Vallecas district. Emergency services confirmed that three of the injured are in serious condition, while two others are considered potentially serious.

Firefighters and medical teams rushed to the scene, evacuating the building and treating victims on site before transferring the most severely injured to nearby hospitals. Officials are investigating the cause of the explosion but believe it may have been linked to a gas leak.

Residents reported hearing a loud boom that shook surrounding buildings, followed by smoke pouring from the bar. The incident has sparked renewed concerns about safety inspections in older establishments across the city.
