ISRAEL — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it successfully eliminated a terror cell responsible for detonating an explosive device targeting Israeli troops in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. Fortunately, no IDF soldiers were injured in the incident.

According to a military spokesperson, the operation was part of broader overnight strikes conducted by the Israeli Air Force (IAF). Over the past 24 hours, the IAF struck more than 100 strategic targets across southern Gaza. These included:

• Terror tunnels used for smuggling and ambushes
• Anti-tank missile launch positions
• Weapons storage depots
• Active terror cells

The strikes form part of Israel’s ongoing campaign to degrade Hamas and affiliated terror groups’ capabilities while protecting IDF ground operations. Military officials described the targeted cell as “imminently threatening,” noting that the detonation was part of a pattern of ambush tactics employed by militants in urban warfare zones.

The IDF continues to emphasize that precision strikes are being carried out in accordance with international law and military ethics, with an aim to minimize harm to civilians.

This development follows days of intensified fighting in the Khan Yunis region, a known Hamas stronghold, as Israel pushes deeper into Gaza to dismantle militant infrastructure.
