UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has vowed to strengthen protection for Jewish communities across Britain following the terrorist attack at a Manchester synagogue that left two people dead.

Speaking after chairing an emergency COBRA meeting, Starmer condemned the attack as “an assault on the entire nation’s values” and assured the public that “every measure necessary will be taken” to ensure the safety of places of worship.

The incident, declared a terrorism-related attack by Greater Manchester Police, occurred at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall. The suspect, reportedly armed and carrying what appeared to be an explosive device, was shot dead by police at the scene.

Security has since been heightened around synagogues and Jewish community centers nationwide. Counter-terror officers continue investigating potential links and motives behind the assault, while Starmer called for unity and vigilance in the face of extremism.
