The Israel Defense Forces’ elite Duvdevan Unit, working in close coordination with the Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency, carried out simultaneous counterterror operations in Nablus, arresting two Hamas operatives in the early hours of the morning. The dual raids targeted two locations — the Balata Refugee Camp and the Masaken Aabyeh neighborhood — both known strongholds for Hamas activity in the northern West Bank.  

According to Israeli defense officials, the operation was launched after intelligence indicated that the suspects were involved in planning future attacks against Israeli civilians and security personnel. The Duvdevan Unit, known for its undercover precision missions in dense urban environments, moved swiftly under cover of darkness, surrounding the compounds and detaining the suspects without reported casualties.  

Witnesses in Nablus described a brief but intense exchange as IDF vehicles entered the area, with reports of local militants attempting to block the raids. The suspects were transferred for Shin Bet interrogation, where officials say they will be questioned about recent Hamas directives in the northern West Bank aimed at reigniting coordinated terror attacks.  

The IDF confirmed that the operation was part of a broader effort to dismantle Hamas’s operational infrastructure across Judea and Samaria. In recent weeks, Israeli forces have intensified targeted arrests and intelligence-driven missions to preempt terror cells before they can strike.
