A powerful avalanche thundered down Mount Annapurna in Nepal, sending a massive wall of snow and debris toward a trekkers’ camp at the mountain’s north base. The dramatic moment, captured on video by climbers, shows the avalanche roaring down the slope, engulfing the camp in a swirling whiteout of snow, ice, and wind. Miraculously, no injuries were reported.  

The footage, filmed from a nearby ridge, captures the sheer force of nature as the avalanche cascades down one of the world’s most dangerous peaks. Trekkers can be seen scrambling for cover as the snowstorm sweeps through their camp, temporarily blinding the area and shaking the ground. Within seconds, the entire base camp disappears beneath a cloud of snow before visibility slowly returns.  

Local authorities confirmed that all climbers and guides at the site were accounted for and safe. Nepal’s Department of Tourism said the avalanche was likely triggered by recent heavy snowfall and shifting temperatures in the region. Rescuers and mountain patrols have been dispatched to assess the stability of nearby slopes and ensure no further risks to expeditions.  

Annapurna, part of the Himalayas and the tenth-highest mountain in the world, is notorious for its unpredictable weather and deadly avalanche history. The mountain has claimed more climbers per attempt than any other major Himalayan peak, with sudden snow slides among the leading causes.
