Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that approximately 900,000 Palestinians have been displaced from Gaza City amid the ongoing Israeli military offensive.

Speaking during a speech in Jerusalem, Katz said, “The decision to occupy Gaza, the collapse of multi-story buildings, and the intensity of Israeli military operations in the city have led to the evacuation of roughly 900,000 residents to the south, creating immense pressure on Hamas and the countries that support it.”

The Israeli military has been conducting a sweeping air and ground assault in and around Gaza City for several weeks, targeting what it describes as key Hamas strongholds. The large-scale displacement has raised humanitarian concerns as aid organizations warn of worsening conditions for civilians forced to flee their homes.
