The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that its 98th Division has intensified operations in Gaza City, surrounding the area in recent days and carrying out a series of strikes against Hamas infrastructure.

According to the IDF, more than 30 militants were eliminated during the operation, while civilians were directed to evacuate southward for safety. Troops reported finding machine guns, ammunition, and tunnel openings hidden inside civilian buildings, along with surveillance cameras used to monitor Israeli forces.

In coordination with ground operations, the Israeli Air Force struck over 120 targets, including military compounds and reconnaissance sites, as part of efforts to weaken Hamas’s command and operational capabilities.

The IDF said the campaign aims to dismantle militant networks embedded in urban areas while limiting threats posed by weapons stockpiles and tunnel systems. The intensified push underscores Israel’s focus on consolidating control of Gaza City in the broader offensive.
