The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a series of precision airstrikes in southern Lebanon’s Tyre area late Thursday, targeting Hezbollah militants and infrastructure tied to the group’s ongoing efforts to rebuild its war-damaged terror network. Lebanese media confirmed explosions in the Tyre region, reporting heavy damage to what sources described as a Hezbollah construction unit engaged in restoring facilities previously destroyed by Israeli operations.

According to IDF officials, the strike specifically targeted a construction team responsible for reconstructing underground tunnels and launch sites used by Hezbollah during past cross-border attacks against Israel. “The IDF will not allow Hezbollah to rebuild its terror capabilities,” an Israeli military spokesperson stated. “Any attempt to restore operational infrastructure will be met with immediate and decisive force.”

The operation follows weeks of increased tension along the Israel-Lebanon border, as Hezbollah continues to violate UN resolutions by stockpiling weapons and operating near civilian areas. Residents in Tyre reported hearing several loud blasts and seeing flames rise from the targeted site shortly after midnight.

Hezbollah, a proxy of Iran, has faced significant setbacks due to Israel’s ongoing precision campaign aimed at dismantling its command and logistics networks. Intelligence sources suggest that the group has been using civilian cover to mask reconstruction activities, prompting the IDF to act preemptively to ensure the safety of northern Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the IDF’s actions, reaffirming Israel’s right to defend itself. “We will continue to strike our enemies wherever they hide,” he said. “Those who threaten Israel will pay a heavy price.”
