The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have revealed new footage showing a 1.5-kilometer Hamas tunnel running beneath and adjacent to the Jordanian Hospital in Gaza City. The discovery, made public on October 4, 2025, exposes a sprawling underground complex containing weapons workshops, command rooms, and living quarters used by Hamas operatives.

According to the IDF, there is no evidence of Jordanian involvement or knowledge regarding the tunnel’s existence. Officials emphasized that the hospital’s staff and humanitarian operations were not connected to the militant infrastructure found beneath the site.

The finding adds to a growing body of evidence supporting reports from the United Nations and human rights organizations, which have previously documented Hamas’s practice of using civilian infrastructure for military purposes. Similar tunnels have been uncovered in recent months under hospitals such as Al-Shifa, underscoring ongoing security concerns in Gaza’s urban areas.
