Security Guard Run Over by Robbery Suspects in Santa Ana Parking Lot

SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA — Newly released video footage captures the shocking moment a security guard was run over by suspects fleeing the scene of a violent robbery in a parking lot.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident began when a woman approached an 83-year-old man in a store parking lot and offered to help him carry his groceries. In a sudden turn, the woman snatched two gold chains from the elderly man’s neck, valued at more than $4,500, and ran toward a waiting Mercedes SUV.

As the suspects attempted to flee, a security guard tried to intervene, stepping in front of the vehicle to stop them. Disturbing video shows the driver accelerating and striking the guard, running him over before speeding off.

Miraculously, the guard survived the incident, though the extent of his injuries has not been fully disclosed. Police say the suspects are still at large, and investigators are reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of identifying those responsible.

Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information about the suspects or the vehicle, described as a dark-colored Mercedes SUV, possibly with front-end damage.
