Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last Shah, issued a video call to the Iranian diaspora on January 24, 2026, urging coordinated international support for ongoing domestic protests against the regime. Addressing Iranians in Australia, Europe, Canada, and the United States, Pahlavi praised recent global demonstrations as sources of hope and strength for citizens inside Iran, where violent crackdowns and martial law have escalated since the uprising began on January 8.

In his message, Pahlavi emphasized the diaspora’s critical role in amplifying the movement through advocacy, media outreach, and targeted actions. He outlined six core demands to guide international efforts: protect Iranians by weakening the regime and targeting the IRGC, freeze regime assets and disrupt the so-called “Ghost Fleet” of tankers, provide free internet while blocking regime censorship, expel regime diplomats and pursue legal action for crimes against humanity, release all political prisoners immediately, and prepare for a democratic transition with recognition of a legitimate transitional government.

Pahlavi called on supporters to unite under the historic Iranian Lion and Sun flag, set aside personal differences, and act with dignity, reminding the diaspora that the eyes of those inside Iran are watching closely. He stressed that international pressure is essential to protecting civilians, who have faced deadly repression in recent weeks, and to advancing a pathway toward freedom and democratic governance.

The video message responds to widespread protests that have spanned all 31 provinces of Iran, triggered initially by economic collapse but increasingly fueled by broader anti-regime sentiment. Reports indicate security forces have killed thousands, imposed martial law, and attempted to suppress communications, making global solidarity and advocacy more crucial than ever.

Pahlavi’s address signals a renewed effort to mobilize the international Iranian community, coordinate strategic campaigns, and maintain the momentum of the movement. “Together we can end their suffering and bring freedom,” he declared, concluding with a rallying cry: “Long live Iran!”
