Thousands Gather in Emotional Farewell as Rachmistrivka Rebbetzin Miriam Twersky A"H is Laid to Rest in Airmont
The Jewish community came together in a powerful display of unity and respect as thousands attended the kevurah of Rachmistrivka Rebbetzin Miriam Twersky A"H, who passed away at the age of 93. The burial took place at Har Shalom Beis HaChaim cemetery in Airmont, New York, following an impressive procession that traveled from Boro Park through New Square and Monsey. As the widow of the late Rachmistrivka Rebbe and daughter of the previous Skverer Rebbe, Rebbetzin Twersky held a deeply revered place in Hasidic circles, and her passing marked a significant moment for the broader community.
Chaverim of Rockland, with strong support from volunteers of Chaverim of Orange County, coordinated the large-scale event with remarkable efficiency. They handled heavy traffic, dense crowds of men in traditional Hasidic attire, buses, and emergency vehicles to ensure everything ran smoothly and safely. Photos and videos from the event capture the solemn atmosphere and the strong sense of devotion shown by thousands who came to pay their final respects.
This gathering highlights the tight-knit bonds and enduring traditions within the Hasidic world. Even in moments of loss, the community demonstrates its strength, organization, and deep commitment to honoring its leaders. Rebbetzin Twersky’s legacy as a woman of great stature will continue to inspire future generations.
