Israeli troops from the 188th Brigade, working with elite Yahalom forces, have dismantled more than 10 Hamas terror tunnels in southern Gaza. One of the underground routes had previously been used to hold hostages. During the operation, soldiers also seized a significant quantity of weapons, including rockets, launchers, assault rifles, grenades, and explosive devices. Video footage released by the IDF shows controlled explosions destroying both above-ground and underground infrastructure in the area.

The mission forms part of eight months of defensive operations east of the Yellow Line under the existing ceasefire framework. In addition to neutralizing the tunnels, the troops established new defensive routes and positions to strengthen security in the sector. IDF forces under Southern Command remain deployed in accordance with the agreement and will continue acting against any immediate threats.
