HONG KONG — Torrential rains have flooded streets and disrupted daily life across Hong Kong, with emergency crews battling to drain water from submerged areas, including a flooded carpark in Tseung Kwan O.

The Drainage Services Department was seen working around the clock to manage the rising water levels after the city was hit by yet another round of intense rainfall.

Authorities issued the black rainstorm signal — the highest-level weather alert — for the fourth time in just eight days, triggering the suspension of school classes and affecting hospital operations.

Transportation has also been impacted, with roads in low-lying areas overwhelmed by floodwaters and commuters advised to avoid unnecessary travel.

The Hong Kong Observatory warns that unstable weather conditions may persist, urging residents to remain vigilant and follow government advisories closely.
