Russia and Ukraine issued sharply contrasting accounts of the latest phase of fighting, as Moscow claimed a wide-ranging strike campaign while Kyiv reported successfully repelling intensified assaults across multiple фронts.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces struck 157 Ukrainian military and infrastructure targets, including drone production sites and key transportation facilities. Among the most prominent claims was the disabling of the Lviv State Aviation Repair Plant, which the Kremlin described as a critical hub for servicing Western-supplied F-16 fighter jets and producing long-range attack drones. Russian officials stated the strike involved an Oreshnik hypersonic missile, underscoring what Moscow portrays as its growing use of advanced weapons systems.

In addition to air and missile strikes, Russian forces announced the capture of the Novoboikovskoye settlement in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, following intensified ground operations. The Kremlin framed the advance as part of a broader push to disrupt Ukrainian logistics and weaken Kyiv’s ability to sustain combat operations.

Ukrainian authorities presented a markedly different picture. Kyiv reported a significant surge in hostilities, recording 219 combat engagements in a single reporting period. Ukrainian military officials said their forces repelled more than 100 Russian attacks along the Lyman and Pokrovsk fronts, describing fierce fighting but emphasizing that defensive lines held despite sustained pressure.

The competing claims highlight the persistent information war accompanying the conflict, with both sides seeking to shape perceptions of momentum and control. As fighting intensifies across eastern and southern Ukraine, analysts note that battlefield developments remain fluid, with gains and losses often contested and difficult to independently verify.
