BPUnion President Paul Perez has issued a scathing rebuke of U.S. immigration policies following a deadly incident involving an undocumented individual.

"This is somebody that should've never been in this country — that should've never been released into the community. And it's because of these reckless policies by these sanctuary cities that innocent Americans have lost their lives," Perez stated.

His remarks come amid growing scrutiny of sanctuary city policies, which limit local law enforcement's cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Critics argue such policies have created loopholes allowing criminal non-citizens to remain free.

The Biden-era and local-level immigration enforcement policies are increasingly being called into question following high-profile tragedies involving individuals who were previously flagged by ICE but released.
