FBI Director Kash Patel announced the capture of Ryan Wedding, a fugitive on the FBI’s Most Wanted Top Ten list, marking the sixth such arrest in a single year.

“Today, we are announcing the capture of another FBI's Most Wanted Top Ten fugitive, Ryan Wedding,” Patel said. “That makes six Top Ten FBI captures in one year alone — that’s two more than the entirety of the prior administration.”

Wedding, a former Canadian Olympic snowboarder, was added to the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted list in March 2025. U.S. authorities allege he played a leading role in a large-scale international cocaine trafficking operation. At the time of his listing, the FBI offered a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to his arrest.

According to U.S. officials, Wedding was taken into custody after turning himself in at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. He is now in U.S. custody and is expected to face extradition proceedings and federal charges.

The arrest underscores expanded international cooperation between U.S. law enforcement and foreign partners. In remarks accompanying the announcement, Patel credited coordinated efforts across borders for accelerating the capture of high-profile fugitives.
