NEW YORK — FOX Business host Larry Kudlow pushed back against concerns about the economy following disappointing August jobs numbers, insisting the report does not signal a recession.

“This is not a recession report,” Kudlow said on his program Kudlow, where he discussed the latest figures and the outlook for growth under President Trump’s economic policies.

Kudlow suggested that Trump’s achievements may be underreported, despite Bureau of Labor Statistics data showing only 1,494 new jobs added in August — the lowest monthly gain since 2009. The sharp slowdown has raised alarms among some economists, who warn that the labor market may be losing steam.

While Kudlow remained optimistic about the broader economy, critics argue that the weak jobs report undercuts his confidence and underscores challenges that could weigh on future growth.
