Residents of Encino, California, were in for an unexpected sight on Thursday morning when four large bears were spotted resting high in the trees of a quiet residential neighborhood.

Local police and wildlife officers quickly responded, setting up a perimeter as the curious onlookers gathered to witness the unusual scene. Helicopter footage from local news outlets showed the bears — believed to be a mother and her cubs — perched among the branches, appearing calm but alert.

Authorities advised residents to stay indoors and keep pets secured, warning that even relaxed bears can become unpredictable if startled.
