A wild and dangerous stunt was caught on video showing a man going to extreme lengths to recover his repossessed yellow SUV. The viral clip shows the man chasing down a moving tow truck, leaping from the window of a friend’s car, and climbing onto the back of the truck as it sped down the road—all in an effort to reclaim his vehicle.

In a move straight out of an action movie or a high-octane video game, the man managed to detach his SUV from the tow rig and drive off before anyone could stop him. Witnesses can be heard in the background shouting in disbelief as the chaotic scene unfolded in real time.

While the man succeeded in freeing his car, the victory was short-lived. According to reports and footage shared online, the yellow SUV sustained heavy damage during the stunt, including a popped radiator, bent suspension, and a missing oil pan. Mechanics commenting on the video noted that the cost of repairs likely exceeds the original tow and impound fees that sparked the chase.

The video quickly spread across social media, drawing a mix of amusement and disbelief. Some viewers applauded the man’s determination, while others criticized the reckless act for endangering himself and others on the road.  

Authorities have not confirmed whether charges will be filed, but experts have warned that such stunts could lead to serious injury—or worse. Despite the viral fame, it’s a costly reminder that sometimes, trying to outsmart a tow truck isn’t worth the price.
