A spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran dismissed Israeli media reports claiming that Iran’s missile capabilities have been drastically reduced during the ongoing conflict.
Several Israeli outlets, including Israel Hayom, reported that recent strikes by the Israel Defense Forces destroyed more than 60% of Iran’s ballistic missile launchers, leaving approximately 128 still operational.
Responding to the reports during a press conference, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson rejected the figures outright, stating: “Let them stay in that fantasy.”
The comments come as the direct confrontation between Israel and Iran enters its second week, with both sides continuing missile strikes and air operations. Military analysts say claims about remaining missile launchers are difficult to independently verify during active conflict.
Officials on both sides have increasingly used public statements and media messaging to shape perceptions of battlefield success, a common feature in modern warfare where information campaigns run parallel to military operations.
The exchange underscores the growing information battle accompanying the ongoing strikes, as both governments attempt to influence domestic morale and international perception while the conflict continues to escalate.
