President Donald Trump announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at dramatically reducing prescription drug costs for Americans. Speaking publicly, he said: "Starting tonight, dozens of the most commonly-used prescription drugs will be available at dramatic discounts for all consumers throughout a new website: TrumpRX dot Gov."

The website, TrumpRX.gov, provides printable coupons offering up to 80% discounts on 50 widely-used prescription drugs, including statins, antibiotics, and other essential medications. Unlike some discount programs, the initiative is accessible to all Americans regardless of insurance coverage, ensuring broad access to affordable treatment.

The program builds on previous Trump administration efforts to lower drug prices, such as the 2020 executive actions that capped insulin at $35 per month and EpiPens at $250 monthly. By leveraging bulk purchasing negotiations and government oversight, TrumpRX.gov achieves average savings of 60–70% on generic medications, according to White House data.

Officials emphasized that the initiative is designed to be simple and user-friendly. Consumers can visit the website, select the drug they need, and print a coupon that can be used at participating pharmacies nationwide. This approach aims to reduce financial strain on families while expanding access to critical medications.

Trump framed the launch as part of his ongoing commitment to lowering healthcare costs, particularly for everyday Americans struggling with rising drug prices. By combining transparency, direct access, and substantial savings, TrumpRX.gov represents a significant expansion of federal efforts to make prescription drugs more affordable across the country.
