President Donald Trump delivered a fiery response to the ongoing Democrat-led government shutdown, vowing to shut down federal programs he described as “Socialist” and “semi-Communist.”

Speaking from the White House, Trump said Democrats are facing mounting political backlash as negotiations stall, framing the standoff as a test of fiscal responsibility and ideological direction.

“The Democrats are getting killed on the shutdown,” Trump said. “We’re closing up programs that are Democrat programs, and we’re going to have a list of them on Friday—closing up some of the most egregious, Socialist, semi-Communist programs.”
